Molasses Cookies

I think I forgot how to do this! Took me half an hour to load the photos! Let's see...

Gather the ingredients:

3.5 cups of AP Flour
1 cup o' butter
1 tsp each of clove, cinnamon and nutmeg
2 tsp baking soda (NOT the magical kind)
2 eggs
2 cups of white sugar
1 cup of molasses

Sugar for sprinkling- it's an option, not a rule

Sift your flour and spices and soda. You could use salt but since I use salted butter I don't.

Cream the butter and sugar

Keep creaming... you want the gritty feel to be gone. Doesn't take long (1 scene and a commercial of your show)

Get your eggs ready

One at a time add to butter and sugar

I said "ONE AT A TIME!"

See. Creamy ,very creamy

Molasses at the ready- Mr. Gingerbread Man approved and blessed by Our Lady

Slowly eyeball a cup, or measure if you have bad eyes

Add your flour/ spice mix a bit at a time- trust me. Have you seen the Kraft commercial where the kid dumps the flour into the stand mixer in one shot? You want to avoid that scene.

The dough is very soft but it should look something like this

I like to pop it into the freezer while I clean up. When you open the freezer maybe you will see what I saw... This is what you get when the Mister says "I got some groceries" Behind the DQ you will notice fish sticks. Groceries.

Plop dough a small scoop at a time onto a lined sheet. You will bake for 8- 10 minutes and not a speck longer.
To be honest I got tired of making all these small cookies- which most would consider normal and started using a regular sized ice cream scoop. Of which you can stagger 3 plops of dough onto one sheet. The larger bake for 11 minutes. Not a speck longer.

The end. Missed you.
